Ed has been a Real Estate Professional on Hilton Head Island and the Mainland since 1998. Prior to moving to the Lowcountry, Ed was the President of Sutton Realtors, Inc., a large real estate firm in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he specialized in residential and commercial real estate sales in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He has been a licensed Real Estate Broker and Realtor since 1977 and a consistent multi-million dollar volume producer during that time. Ed has held the Certified Residential Specialist designation from the National Association of Realtors since 1982 and actively pursues all opportunities in continuing education available through the National, State, and Local Associations. He currently holds Real Estate Broker Licenses in South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.

Born in Savannah, Georgia Ed grew up in Richmond Hill, Georgia near the Henry Ford Plantation and has acquired a deep understanding and love of the coastal south and its unique lifestyle. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a Degree in Psychology, he was a founding member of the Eta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Ed's wife Diana is the Human Resources Director for the Hilton Resort on the Island and is also a graduate of Georgia Southern. Ed and Diana have two sons: Scott, Vanderbilt '91, an Investment Specialist in Charleston, SC; and Chris, UNC '95, a Medical Equipment Rep in Atlanta, GA. Both sons graduated from the Baylor Preparatory School in Chattanooga.

Ed is active in the Hilton Head Area Association of Realtors, working each year with Habitat for Humanity to organize teams and personally work on construction projects to build low income housing for families in the area. He also serves on the Local Association's Legislative Committee to monitor and support area legislation that promotes the rights of home ownership. Ed was the President of the Lowcountry EAA Chapter in 2005 and 2006, a local pilot's organization in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area. The Chapter conducts several programs annually in the community to promote the benefits of general and commercial aviation. One program, the Young Eagles Rally, provides area youths an opportunity to experience their first flight on a short trip around the Island. Ed currently serves on the Community Relations Committee of the Aviation Advisory Board which reports to the Beaufort County Council on local airport and aviation issues. Ed and Diana live in Sea Pines Plantation and are Members of Providence Presbyterian Church where he serves as a Deacon.

Ed's favorite hobbies include flying (private pilot since 1972); scuba diving (PADI - Master Scuba Diver); fishing (salt and fresh water); biking (in the backwoods); hiking (the higher the better); golfing (especially in the Lowcountry); and fitness (conditioning for all the above). He enjoys reading, especially historical novels about the South. Ed is very interested in technology and is computer literate in most of the latest software, especially anything related to real estate sales and marketing.

When it comes to Realtors, Ed is a very practical real estate professional with an exceptional knowledge and understanding of real estate in the Lowcountry. He is always available to assist his clients in whatever their real estate interests may be.
